Uploading an Audio File
Upload a call recording to Intel for automatic transcription and AI analysis.
Uploading a Call Recording
Intel (the analysis surface at /dashboard/analyze) can transcribe and analyze an audio recording you already have. CloseIntel uses AssemblyAI to turn your uploaded file into a transcript, then runs it through the AI coaching engine.
CloseIntel does not record or listen to live calls. Transcription runs on a file you upload after the call has happened.
How to Upload
- Open Intel from the sidebar (under the Sales section).
- Enter a Title so you can find the analysis later.
- Select the Upload Audio tab.
- Add your file one of two ways:
- Drag and drop the file onto the upload area, or
- Click the upload area to browse and pick a file.
- Click Run Analysis.
Supported Formats
CloseIntel accepts these audio formats:
- MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, WEBM
The maximum file size is 500 MB. Longer recordings are supported as long as they stay within that size limit.
Transcription Process
Once uploaded, your audio is sent to AssemblyAI for transcription. This typically takes a few minutes depending on the length of the recording, and speaker labels are applied automatically so the AI can tell participants apart. The on-screen status moves through uploading and transcribing before analysis begins — see Analysis Status.
One Intel Credit is used when an analysis actually runs. See Understanding Intel Credits.
Troubleshooting
- Upload rejected: Verify your file is under 500 MB and in one of the supported formats above.
- Poor transcription quality: Low-quality audio with heavy background noise produces less accurate transcripts. Use a clear recording when possible.
- No credits remaining: Check the shared team credit pool with your admin, or review your plan in Settings → Billing.
