Practice Minutes and Modes
How practice time works in the Training Simulator — the weekly minute cap, per-mode rates, the five practice modes, and how to get more time.
Practice Time in the Training Simulator
Time in the Training Simulator (/dashboard/practice) runs on a weekly minute budget. You get a set number of practice minutes each week; how fast you burn through them depends on which mode you practice in.
Your Weekly Minutes
- Each week you get a practice-minute allocation set by your workspace.
- Your remaining time is shown on the Simulator sub-tab while you set up a drill.
- The allocation resets every Monday at midnight UTC — the app shows the exact time in your timezone.
The exact weekly allowance is configured per workspace, so it varies between teams. Watch the "time used / time left" indicator on the Simulator sub-tab for your current balance.
The Five Practice Modes
When you start a drill you pick how you want to practice:
- By Phone — audio-only voice conversation with a live voice "orb," no video.
- Video Call (Camera Off) — a video-meeting layout, voice only, with a placeholder buyer tile.
- Video Call (Avatar) — a video meeting with a full animated AI avatar buyer (if avatars are enabled for your workspace).
- Text — type your side of the conversation instead of speaking.
- Rapid Fire — five quick text rebuttals against back-to-back objections, scored on speed and accuracy.
How Modes Affect Your Minutes
For a Full Simulator drill, minutes are charged based on the real time you spend in the conversation, multiplied by a per-mode rate:
- By Phone burns at the base rate (1×) — it's the most time-efficient way to practice.
- Voice modes (Video Call with Camera Off) burn faster than phone, because they add synthesized speech.
- Video Call (Avatar) burns the fastest, because the animated avatar costs the most to run.
The simulator shows the rate next to each Call Type (for example, "1× rate" / "3× rate") so you can see the trade-off before you start. Rapid Fire uses a small, flat per-session cost instead of per-second billing.
Phone mode stretches your weekly minutes much further than avatar mode. If you're low on time, switch to phone or text to keep practicing.
Running Out of Time
If you've used all your minutes for the week, the simulator shows an out of time message with two paths forward:
- Wait for Monday — your weekly allocation refills automatically.
- Get more practice time — buy a top-up minute package right from that screen.
Purchased minutes are added on top of your weekly allocation and carry over — they aren't wiped on the Monday reset.
Buying More Minutes
From the out-of-time screen you can purchase a top-up package (for example, additional 30, 60, or 120 minutes). Pick a package, complete checkout, and the minutes are credited to your balance so you can keep going.
